There is a particular thrill when nature aligns with a vision. I had been driving for hours when I came across this lakeside scene. The soft light, still reflections, and simple symmetry felt like a welcome pause. I later noticed a lone bison on the far bank. Hoping it might complete the composition I had imagined, I decided to wait, wishing it would cross the river.
It must have been my lucky day: two hours later, it finally did. As it stood motionless in the sunlight, drying off from the cold water, I stayed a little longer, taking in the stillness of the moment. It felt like a well-earned respite for both of us.
