Yellowstone often feels too vast to fully grasp from the ground. Its hot springs, geysers and mineral textures seemingly made to be seen from above, where their scale can truly unfold.
But looking closer, miniature landscapes sometimes begin to emerge. I made this photograph from just a few steps away, drawn to an illusion that transformed a small geothermal pattern into something that felt almost aerial. A reminder that entire worlds can exist within the smallest details, if we take the time to notice them.
