This moment marked the culmination of 27 days in the Sierra Nevada on the John Muir Trail. We spent 3 days in the snow waiting for our opportunity to reach the roof of the contiguous US. The sky finally opened that night, and granted us an hour of complete solitude admiring the shifting soft colors of dawn. It was one of those rare and privileged moments that will stay with me forever. I could only hope to capture a fleeting moment, to preserve and share.
